Is it safe to book with e-domizil?
It is safe! The e-domizil AG is a company of the "Switzerland Travel Centre", a subsidiary of the SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and Switzerland Tourism. Your data is cryptographically secured before it is transmitted and handled in strict confidence. Please read our regulations of data protection for further information.
How can I book a property?
When you have chosen the perfect home, click the "Booking" or the "Book now" button. Our booking assistant will help you through the three simple steps:

- Enter your travel dates, your personal data and your payment details then click on "Forward"
- Please take your time to control the data your provided in step 1 and carefully read the travel conditions. Please show you accept these conditions by ticking the corresponding box. Then click on "Book now".
- In the third step your booking request will be confirmed and all the complete booking data will be shown again.
In any case, your booking request is binding. We will once more check the availability of the selected home with the provider. After receipt of this confirmation, we will generally contact you within two working days and send you a confirmation email.
Your vacation home is now definitely booked. It is that easy to book with e-domizil!

If the property is to be booked directly with the landlord, there will be a button "Enquire". If you click on this button, you can send your request directly to the landlord. The landlord will accept your request, prepare the contract and control the payment details. In this case, you do not have a contractual relationship with e-domizil.
What are the payment practises at e-domizil?
A down payment of the travel price (deducted from the total travel price) is usually payable on conclusion of the contract. The payment can be effected by bank transfer, credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express) or "PostFinance Card", depending on the property. The possible methods of payment will be displayed during the booking. The remainder is normally due 6 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. In case of bookings less than 6 weeks before the start of the holiday, the whole travel price is due immediately.
What are the payment practises in case of last-minute bookings?
In case of last-minute bookings, the whole travel price is due immediately. The payment can be effected per credit card or "PostFinance Card" only.
Travel documents
When do I receive my travel documents?
After the payment receipt of the complete travel price on our account you will receive your travel documents approx. 2-3 weeks before the start of the holiday. In case of last-minute bookings you receive your travel documents immediately. The travel documents contain a voucher, a route description and the address of the landlord. You have to pass the voucher to the landlord on your arrival on spot.

How do I find my dream home with e-domizil?
e-domizil offers several search possibilities to quickly find your dream home.
- The quick search allows you to look for properties in certain regions or in a certain place. Simply enter your desired travel dates and view the properties that are available at that time. Are you looking for a property with a whirpool and /or are you solely interested in properties with a fireplace? Properties with these amenities can be found with the extended search. Simply click on "more options" to reach the additional options.
- The free text search allows you to look for specific properties with the object number, the object name, places, regions and any other content from the property description. The object number is always given in the description and will help you to easily retrieve your dream home. Unfortunately, the free text search is only available on the German homepage of www.e-domizil.ch.
- The radius search allows you to look at all the properties situated within a certain radius (in km) of you destination. Simply enter the name of your destination and the desired radius and all the properties within this radius will be indicated on the map.
- Last but not least, consider booking one of our recommendations. If you do not find your dream home, we have many other heavenly homes for you.
What are the arrival and departure dates?
For most of the properties, the arrival and departure dates are set for Saturday. With certain properties, however, there is a possibility to arrive or depart on other days of the week.
If the chosen holiday residence can be rented for a short holiday, you can always choose your arrival and departure date freely (as long as both dates lie within the same booking week). If you desire further information, our service team will be happy to assist you.
Can you send me a catalogue of your holiday residences?
Unfortunately not. In order to save costs and keep the rental offers up to date, e-domizil only presents its rental properties in the internet. However, the detailed, quality information can be printed out from the internet without any problem.
In order to print a detailed view, click the button "Print" displayed below the property pictures. The optimised print view now visible can be printed by clicking on "Print" under the "File" heading.
If you want to print other pages, please click the printer symbol in your browser or click the right mouse button. Now, select the option "Print" on the newly opened menu.
How can I find out, if a holiday home is available for my desired travel period?
If you put in your desired travel period by using the Quick search or the Extended search, only properties, that are available for that period, will be displayed. You will then see in the property view If arrival and departure are possible at the dates desired. Moreover you can search for properties where an arrival ist possible on a specific date. You can also see the availability of a particular property. Therefore just click "Prices and availability" on our navigation bar and enter the date of arrival and the travel duration. Then you have to click the button "Show prices and availability". If the property is displayed as occupied, you can directly send a booking inquiry to us. With this inquiry you will get the information if this occupation is only a temporary one. If there is a binding booking for this property, we will try to find an alternative property for you.
Is it possible to contract a travel insurance at e-domizil?
You can effect a travel insurance during the online booking.
Information about your holiday home
Are baby beds available at the holiday residence?
If baby beds are available, this will be displayed in the "detailed view" of the holiday residence. Otherwise, please bring along any necessary travel beds.
Please take into account that the given distances and sizes are approximations.

Does the holiday home have heating/air conditioning?
You can find out if your holiday residence has heating and/or air conditioning in the property description. Normally, we request that our rental property managers set the temperature in the rental unit at a comfortable level prior to handing over of key. If, for some reason, this is not possible, we ask for your understanding.
If you are only able to plan your holiday at the last minute for business or other reasons, you have the option of using our last minute booking system. All the rental properties listed here are still available and can be acquired at a particularly reasonable price just before the start of the holiday.
How much do I have to pay for utilities?
Utilities will be calculated individually. The additional services not included in the price of the holiday can be viewed in the rental property description. The utilities (depending upon the amount of use) are to be paid on location in the currency of that country, with the return of the key to the rental property manager.
Will the holiday home be cleaned during the stay?
Your holiday residence will not be cleaned during your stay. If you would like to organise for it to be cleaned during your holiday, please ask your local representative if and when this is possible. If a daily cleaning service is available, any information on this subject will be found in the rental property description.
Who takes care of the cleaning before departure?
Prior to departure, the holiday rental tenant is responsible for cleaning the property thoroughly. In some cases, it is possible to pay the local representative to carry out this duty. The impending costs depend upon the regional price for such a service and the size of the house.
You can find out if cleaning at the end of your stay is already included in the price by checking the information regarding the property. Please leave your holiday home exactly as you would like to have found it when you arrived. The next tenant will be grateful.
Immediately following the payment of the remainder as stipulated in the contract you will receive all travel documents. These include information about the holiday home, a voucher as well as a detailed route description. Furthermore, you can always find information on our internet site at

After you have effected your down payment, e-domizil will send you a trust letter together with your invoice. In case of bookings, in which e-domizil is acting as travel mediator, the respective tour operator will send you a trust letter, if he is obliged to do so by the legal guidelines of his country. Can I use my electronic equipment at the holiday home and whom do I contact if a power cut occurs?
If you have already acquired a suitable mains adapter for the destination country prior to the start of your holiday, you can use the electronic equipment (razor, etc. ) that you have brought along. Because the electricity supply in southern countries often has a limited capacity, take care not to use too many of your household electronics at the same time. If a power cut does occur, please inform your local representative.
How often is the swimming pool cleaned and can it be used all year long?
At high temperatures or if frequently used, swimming pool should be cleaned and chlorinated more often than normal. Take care that after cleaning the swimming pool, your children do not dive in with their eyes open. Sensitive eyes can be protected through the use of swimming goggles or a diving mask.
Does every holiday home have a telephone connection?
In the "object description" section you can find out if a house is equipped with a telephone connection. Nevertheless, we recommend that you take your mobile phone with you even if the house has a telephone. As a rule, mobile phones function throughout Europe. Keep in mind, however, that even the reception of international calls entails so-called "roaming" charges.
What do I have to consider regarding the water supply?
Because tap water often has a high calcium content and/or is mixed with chlorine, you should definitely use a de-calcification product when cleaning your dishes. Furthermore, please keep in mind that the water table in southern countries can be quite low in the summer. We ask for your understanding in the unlikely event of water rationing.
Are there additional beds available and will there be further charges for them?
Through the detailed description of our holiday rental properties, you can find out what type of sleeping options and additional beds will be at your disposal. Please ask at our servicecenter if in some cases it is possible to acquire a baby bed. There will be a special notice if a further charge is required for additional occupants.
Is the holiday home clean upon arrival?
You will naturally receive your property in a clean condition. If you find on your arrival that your holiday residence has not been properly cleaned, please inform the local representative immediately after you have received the key.
Arrival and Departure
What is the best way for arrival? Do I receive a route description?
Most holiday rental tenants arrive using their private cars. To ensure you find your residence more easily, you will receive a detailed route description with your travel documentation.
Do I have to pay a deposit? If yes, how do i pay the deposit?
In order to ensure that the holiday rental tenants take care of and respect their home and its facilities, some rental property managers require a security deposit. e-domizil lets the rental property managers decide if they require a security deposit and if so, how much. This is to be delivered when handing over of the key on location.
If the house is returned in a suitable condition at the end of your holiday, the full amount of the deposit will be returned (minus any possible additional utility costs or telephone charges). However, if the condition is unsatisfactory, the rental property manager has the right to withhold a portion of the deposit. You can find further information about the deposit amount in the property description or the terms and conditions of the respective tour operator.
How to I receive the keys and travel documentation for my holiday home?
With the travel documents you will receive your voucher from e-domizil. Please show this voucher to the local representative. The information on how to contact the local representative will be included in the travel documents. After you have handed the voucher to the respective partner, he will hand over the key and, if necessary, inform you of any special features.
Is there a transfer from the airport to your holiday residence?
Normally, the transfer from the airport to your holiday residence is not included in the price of the holiday. If such a service is offered by the rental property manager, this will be displayed.
When can I enter the holiday hoem and when do I have to depart?
You can usually enter your holiday home or flat on the day of your arrival after 16:00. You will be informed when and where you can pick up the key in your detailed travel documents. If you arrive late, please contact your local representative as soon as possible. Please plan your departure in such a manner that you will be able to leave your holiday residence no later than 10:00. However, special check-out arrangements can be made through an agreement with the local representative.

Can I rent sport equipment?
At some locations it is possible to rent various types of sporting equipment and other products.
Who is my contact person if questions and problems arise?
We do everything we can to ensure your holiday is as comfortable as possible. Nevertheless, in some cases unexpected problems can arise. If this occurs, please inform us immediately so that we can assist you within the framework of our responsibilities. What do I have to take into account regarding food and beverages?
Different countries, different customs. That's why, it is especially exciting to experience new ingredients and new cooking methods on holiday. Typical regional spices lend a particularly interesting taste to meals. In southern countries, beverages are often served very cool. Give you and your body a little time to get accustomed to the new eating habits. Furthermore, keep in mind that alcohol has a stronger effect on the body at higher temperatures.
How do I prevent insects/ants in my holiday home?
It is advised not to leave non-refrigerated food waste/leftovers out because of ants and other insects. As a precaution, take mosquito and/or ant repellent with you on your holiday, especially if travelling to southern countries.
Is it quiet in the evening?
Life in southern countries often unfolds in the street during the cool evening hours. Therefore, we would like to emphasise that noise pollution can occur in some cases even if the holiday residence is described as being calm and quiet. We ask for your understanding.
Do I have to remove refuse myself?
In southern countries, refuse is usually picked up every morning for hygiene reasons. We ask you to be patient in case this leads to any short-term disturbances.
Can I drink tap water without hesitation?
We recommend that you only drink tap water in southern countries after it has been boiled.

e-domizil presents your property according to two models: the model "property advertisement" or the model "bookable online":

Naturally, you may decide which price you find appropriate for your property; e-domizil gives you plenty of leeway to decide if, or rather how high the amount of the commission you will include in the rental price. ON the basis of your experience you will know best how much vacationers are willing to pay for your property.
- Property advertisement
The model "property advertisement" is available at an annual advertising fee of CHF 300.- (plus TVA). The property is then advertised on www-e-domizil.ch and on selected partner websites. As the landlord, you will manage the bookings, the encashment and the mailing of travel documents. As with the model “bookable online” you will set the prices and the availability yourself, through your personal online access.
If you want to advertise your vacation home with e-domizil, you must first register on our website as a landlord. Fill in our online form with all the property data and upload, if possible, high quality pictures of the property. You can then apply to have your property published online. We will edit the advertisement and then upload the property onto our network.
Do I need to present my rental property exclusively with e-domizil?
e-domizil does not obligate you to exclusive advertisement! You can also offer your rental property anywhere, any time, and continue to rent it to your regular guests.
However, similar to tourist information offices, in order to avoid double booking it is necessary to contact us as quickly as possible about any rentals. This way, e-domizil makes it possible for you to increase the occupancy of your rental property without risk. And the best thing is: you can continue to personally use your rental property at any time.

We will not only manage the booking procedures, but we will also take care of the tenants’ requests. Therefore, all you will need to do is to hand over the keys on the arrival date, and retrieve them on the departure date.
If you have uploaded your property advertisement under the model "property advertisement", you will receive requests by email, telephone and by fax. e-domizil will not provide any customer support for your customers.
How do I find out if a holiday rental tenant has booked my property via e-domizil?
Provided you have given us your e-mail address, you will receive a booking notice after every binding rental. This will inform you about the number of guests, the dates of the stay, and any possible special requests.
Moreover, if you have internet access at your disposal, then you can personally check the current booking situation at any time.
What happens when a holiday rental tenant cancels a booking?
You will be immediately informed either via e-mail or fax of any possible cancellations. In particularly urgent cases we will contact you by telephone.
In the case of a cancellation of a binding booking, you will get a compensation of up to 70% of the rental price. The actual sum depends upon when the cancellation was made and the length of time prior to the agreed start date of the reservation. Assuming, naturally, that in the meantime you haven't found another tenant to occupy your property for this date.
In any case, e-domizil will make an effort to find a substitute tenant. Therefore, we take on a large part of your risk.
When do I need to pay the commission?
We handle the entire financial process for you. You don't need to worry about a thing. Promptly one week prior to the beginning of the holiday, we will transfer the rent to you.
How can I update the information about my rental property in the internet?
If you have access to the internet, you can easily change any information about your property via the navigation points "Rental Property Manager" and "Property Management" on our web site. After you have registered yourself with your initials and password, our user-controlled input interface makes it especially easy for you to carry out any changes you may wish.
Furthermore, you can call, fax or e-mail our service team and inform them of any desired information updates you want to make.
