Location description Scuol is full of opportunities and has a variety of interesting offers. Experience one of the four delightful seasons in Scuol, where Romansh charm, a modern infrastructure and heart-warming sincerity combine to form a fascinating whole. Enjoy wide sporting activities, complete relaxation in the ritual of the Roman baths, savour a variety of culinary treats and breath in the clean mountain air. Scuol is located 1,250 meters above sea level. Its heart is formed by the picturesque, well-preserved villages of Scuol Sura and Scuol Sot (Upper and Lower Scuol). Scuol is a bulwark of the Romansh language and culture. Romansh sector names on company signs are regulated by law such as, for instance “Cuafför” (barber) and “Restorant” (restaurant).
Special sights
In 1954 the Engiadina Basse Museum Association bought today’s Heritage Museum of the Lower Engadine, which is located in the lower old part of Scuol on the “Plaz”. The rooms, which have been kept in their original arrangement and shape, are now home to numerous decorations and commodities and visitors are given lots of interesting information on the culture and early way of life of the Lower Engadine population.
