Situated only a short drive from the village of Staplehurst where there are shops, church, pubs and mainline railway station to London or the coast, this is an excellent location for visiting nearby Sissinghurst Castle and gardens, the exquisite Leeds Castle, Scotney and Bodiam Castle as well as the many other gardens, castles and historic houses which are all within easy reach of this central location in the heart of Kent. There are numerous National Trust properties to enjoy in the locality. Picturesque Cranbrook with its famous Union Windmill, shops, banks, pubs and sports centre and the delightful country town of Tenterden with antique shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, the Kent & East Sussex steam Railway and Leisure Centre are both a short distance away. Ideal for both sightseeing and shopping are the historic towns of Tunbridge Wells, the Cathedral city of Canterbury and the cinque port of Rye. Gardener's Cottage enjoys privacy at the far end of the Manor House.
