This ship, built in 1893, is now a comfortable groupaccommodation in the centre of Rotterdam
The Aldebaran was built in 1893 in Geertruidenberg as a two-mast river clipper. The ship transported freight in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium until 1940. In 1954 it was fitted with an engine.
In 1991 the owners Willem van Gelderen and Moniek van der Werff have renovated the Aldebaran, in a traditional style combined with an atmospheric, comfortable interior.
In wintertime 2010-2011, the owners rebuild almost everything. And now,the ship is more comfortable, with 9 sleepingrooms and 7 bathrooms en suite, floorheating and lockable room doors. But there is still the same traditional style and atmosphere.
The kitchen is tasteful and well equipped. The deck is easily accessible with a safe and spacious seating area. The welcoming crew will try to make every stay unforgettable by fulfilling their guests' wishes. During your stay the ship will be anchored in the Leuvehaven harbour of Rotterdam.
