Built as a farm building in 1636, this chocolate box inn has beamed ceilings, exposed brick walls and a mass of memorabilia on display all adding to the atmosphere of a traditional English country Inn. It is well known for serving superb home cooked food and a range of real ales. It is a popular place for families and does not have juke-boxes or live music so although it is possible to hear some noise from the customers in the pub and in the gardens this tends to be fairly low level and the pub usually closes before 10.30pm. Old Lantern Inn has front and back gardens with tables and chairs and a large play area. The Old Lantern Apartment has recently been refurbished and is furnished and equipped to a high standard. There is a separate entrance at the side of the Inn with stairs leading up to the apartment which is bright and spacious.
