Villa Monteferrante is a pretty villa built in Liberty style (as Art Nouveau is known in Italy). The villa is just 200 metres from the beach, the Adriatic Sea and the main promenade in Vasto Marina. It is only 2 kilometres from the historic town of Vasto. There is a garden shared with owners and private parking spaces. The apartment is on the top floor. The attractive 'Tea Room' in the tower enjoys fine views of the delightful bay. The villa's terrace is the ideal place to relax in the sun, enjoy a glass of wine or admire the sunset. The Canadian owner lives in the house and is a writer and poet. There are many books, old and new, in the house. Perfect for a family with one or two children for the garden, the rooftop terrace, and its short walk to the beach. The beach itself is sandy and the sea shallow, perfect for toddlers and small children, and great for parents too! No major cooking suggested: the kitchenette fits one cook and has only two electrical burners; also microwave, kettle. Local bus transportation to and from old town center and Vasto Marina every fifteen minutes, or so, in summer. Cost 1 euro. Walking up only takes 15 minutes via steep road, good if you're a hiker. English, French, Italian spoken.

Tips from the owner:
There are flights to the nearby Pescara Airport (75 km) from Oslo, London, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, so it's fast and convenient to get here to Vasto. Trains from Pescara to Vasto/San Salvo station are possibe, with a local bus connecting the airport to the Pescara Centrale train station. Buses also from Pescara train station to Vasto. Taxi service is available via a trusted professional driver with a Mercedes 9-passenger mini-bus. Airport picks up can be arranged. If arriving by bus or train, I will arrange to pick you up at bus terminal or tran station, if I am told in time, of course. From Rome, it's a 3.5 hour trip, with 7-8 buses connecting Rome Tiburtina Bus Terminal to Vasto via Di Fonzo Bus, Cerella, Arpa bus companies. Car rental possible, but only necessary if you will be traveling and visiting the surrounding area, towns and villages the whole time here. Also possible to rent for the day with two major car rentals in Vasto Marina. The beach is perfect, especially for families, as is the house, recently restored, clean with no fancy furnture or antiques. Not especially large, you will spend much time on the beach, terrace, or garden. Book early. We only have that one studio/flat.
