| Excursion possibilities | Half day excursions From Adelboden we suggest the following half-day excursions. Firstly head towards Frutigen and then take a trip up the valley towards Kandersteg until you reach Blausee (Blue Lake). The Nature Park has a deep blue lake with crystal clear water and is located in 20 hectares with walks for the whole family, picnic places and campfire sites, plus a unique alpine trout-breeding farm. Its restaurant serves trout fresh from the water; you can take a boat trip on the fascinatingly blue lake. Head towards Spiez until you reach the Niesenbahn, where this funicular railway takes you up to 2,262m (7,749-ft). Here you overlooking Lake Thun and take in spectacular views of the high peaks of the Bernese Alps. You will often have a good view of the Swiss capitol of Bern to the west. The funicular is open from early May through mid-November and departs at regular intervals from the valley station and takes 28 minutes to reach the summit. |
